“Ports, Customs and Free Zone” showcases its latest Digital Projects at GITEX Global 2023

His Excellency Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, said that the Corporation is proud to announce three new digital projects as part of its participation in the current session of the GITEX Global 2023 under the slogan “Leadership in Sustainability and Artificial Intelligence,” adding that these projects are considered achievements. An innovative digital platform based on the principle of cloud technologies and digital data that aims to create a unique and distinct experience for its customers in accordance with local and international best practices, and at the same time keeps pace with government trends. His Excellency stated that the first of these projects is the “Dubai Sea” portal, which is part of the ongoing efforts made by the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation towards promoting a sustainable maritime industry. It is a digital portal specialized in marine entertainment and guidance to serve seagoers wishing to learn about all developments. Related to the Dubai Sea, such as information about sea conditions, weather, safety instructions, information about prohibited marine areas, and a locator of hotels and restaurants on the sea and various marine facilities to make Dubai one of the largest cities for marine and recreational activities in the world. The corporation also showcases on its platform the “Digital Lighthouse” project, which is an integrated smart operations room for managing all maritime operations taking place in the waters of Dubai and the designated marinas subject to the DMA’s supervision, most notably the radar monitoring system that provides technical scanning and real-time monitoring of traffic related to all maritime means entering. Within the territorial waters of the Emirate of Dubai and registering visiting marine vessels, it also contributes to assisting in search and rescue work and other navigational activities. His Excellency continued: “As part of our smart initiative is the updated version of the virtual assistant (Naham), which is responsible for responding to customers’ inquiries around the clock, which appeared in the form of a hologram (hologram) that interacts with the public’s questions and provides them with appropriate responses to learn about the Corporation’ services and activities more broadly”.
